Nellie Overbey Wilson, 94, of Burlington passed away at White Oak Manor on Monday, November 5, 2018.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Alton Long Wilson and the daughter of Sidney Thomas Overbey and Hattie Maude Eastwood Overbey, both deceased. Mrs. Wilson retired from Swink Hosiery and was an avid participant of the Burlington Senior Games. She was a member of Graham Friends Church.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Wilson (Jo) of Yanceyville; six grandchildren, Lisa Wilson, Rick Wilson (Lori), Duane Wilson (Mary), Shannon Wilson (Pam), Stevie Wilson (Penny) and Brad Wilson (Heather); eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Hallie Baker. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Wilson; three sisters, Mary Sue Parrish, Elsie Wright and Obelia “Chicken” Ezzell; and three brothers, Sidney Overbey, Paul Overbey and Silas Overbey.
A graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery in Orange County, NC on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor for the care given to Mrs. Wilson.
