Nell (Garrison) Lindley

Nell Garrison Lindley, 89, of Archdale, NC and formerly of Graham, NC passed away at High Point Regional Hospital on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:54 a.m.

Born March 26, 1930 in Alamance County, she was the daughter of Arthur G. Garrison and Lucille Ingle Garrison, both deceased.  She was married for 47 years to her late husband, Robert Clinton Lindley who died in 1995. She has now joined him with their Heavenly Father.

Mrs. Lindley worked in the fashion world for many years at Betty Lou Shop which later became Guyes in Burlington. In later years, after raising her girls, she worked for ten years and retired from the Alamance County Health Department, WIC Food Program. Seven years after her husband’s death, she moved to Archdale, NC to be near her daughters. Nell was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Myra Lindley Norton and husband Mike and Karen Lindley Hawkins and husband Tony, all of Archdale; six grandchildren, Jennifer Norton, Meredith Norton, Bradley Norton and wife Holly, Jacob Norton, Lindley Johnson and husband Cody and Casey Hawkins; and one great grandson, Ridge Johnson. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 12:00 noon by Rev. Mark Mosley with the family receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Karen and Tony Hawkins.
