Obituary

Clarice Tew Phillips, 93, went home to be with her lord and savior on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell County, after several years of declining health and three weeks critical illness.

A native of Halifax County, she was the daughter of William Roscus and Una Williams Tew, both deceased. She was retired from General Electric and was a member of Trinity Worship Center. Clarice was a former volunteer at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She loved to travel and work in her flower garden.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Phillips (Betty) of Orange City, Florida, David Phillips (Phyllis) of Burlington, NC, and Timothy Phillips of St. Petersburg, Florida; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Phillips Thompson, and a brother, William Leland Tew.

The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington on Monday, November 19th, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM

A private family entombment will be held at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Place and the Hospice Home for the compassionate care give to Clarice during her illness. They want to especially thank Frances Evans for her loving and dedicated care to Clarice during her residency at Cedar Ridge Retirement Center and the last few weeks at Edgewood Place and the Hospice Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
