Michael Glenn “Mike” Adkins, 48, of Caswell County passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
Born in Rockingham County, he was the husband of Kaye Loftis Adkins, who survives and the son of Glenn Leonard Adkins and Carolyn Sue Smith Adkins, both deceased. Mike recently retired from the Caswell County Sheriff’s Department. Mike retired as Chief Deputy after nearly thirty years of law enforcement. He was the past president of the North Carolina DARE Officer’s Association and was the NC DARE Training Coordinator. Mike was dedicated to the North Carolina DARE Officers Association. He loved serving the citizens of Caswell County.
Mike was an Eagle Scout and was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a dedicated member of the Caswell Brotherhood Lodge #11. Above anything else, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include three children, Emily Adkins, Benjamin “Ben” Adkins, and Wyatt Adkins all of the home.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
The funeral service will be conducted at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Caswell Ward on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
