Mary Cox Ray, 94, of Burlington passed away at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Monday, March 12, 2018.
A native of Patrick County, VA she was the wife of the late, Charles Robert Ray, and the daughter of Robert Cox and Edna Adams Cox, both deceased. She was of the United Church of Christ faith. Mary was a member of the Scotland County Garden Club. She loved painting, basket weaving, quilting, and flower arranging. She also taught basket weaving at Alamance Community College.
She is survived by three daughters, Jenna Ray Clayton, Mikki Ray Harper and husband Steve, and Kati Ray; her son, Bob Ray and wife Ann; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; her brother, Dan Cox and wife Nancy; and her brother in law, Henry Crater.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by ten siblings.
A funeral service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:30 AM by Rev. David Williams. A graveside service will be held on Thursday in Forest Hills Cemetery, Rock Hill, SC at 3:30 PM.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Thursday at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington from 10:00 until 10:30 AM.
