Obituary

Mrs. Mary Clemitene Shoffner, 92, of Snow Camp, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, May 28, 2022.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Dover Moss Shoffner, deceased, and the daughter of Clemith Eugene Justice and Nellie Pearl Shoemaker, both deceased. Clemitene retired from Tower Hosiery with over 30 years of service. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she displayed her faith through acts of service on the bereavement committee. A true Southern woman, she was hospitable, kind and graceful. She prepared Sunday night suppers for her entire family and whomever dropped by for a visit, for over 35 years. She greeted everyone with a smile and spoke gently with a warm-heart.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Shoffner (Hope) of Snow Camp and Fred Shoffner (Debbie) of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Janice Shoffner of Snow Camp; sister, Ruby Isley of Snow Camp; grandchildren, Jamie Smith (Dale), Jessica Fields (Clint), Justin Shoffner, Lori Smith (Ryan), Jeremy Shoffner, Wendy Ely (Scott), Traci Goodman (Bryan) and Brice Shoffner; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Gracie, Payton, Madilyn, Riley, Ally, Finn, Cooper, Ava, Elle, Audrey, Alexander, Gavin, Lily and Graeme. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Shoffner.
The funeral service will be conducted at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Andy Clapp with the family receiving friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Other times the family will be at the residence.
