Mary Lee Truesdale Clarkson

Mary Lee Truesdale Clarkson, age 96, formerly of McKinney Street, Burlington, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Seasons at Southpoint in Durham.

Mrs. Clarkson was a native of Kershaw, SC. She was the wife of the late Theo M. “Tim” Clarkson and the daughter of the late Sam Truesdale and the late Eva Horton Truesdale.

Mrs. Clarkson retired from the Alamance County School System, where she was a secretary at Graham High School. She is a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Clarkson was heavily involved with the Humane Society of Alamance County and served as its President for many years.

She is survived by two sons, David Theodore Clarkson and his wife, Jenny, of Durham and Donald S. Clarkson of Swepsonville; nephews, Donald Dempster and his wife Gerri of New Hampshire and Jerry Reger, Jr. of Kershaw, SC.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Clarkson was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Reger.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Northside Baptist Church, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.

The funeral service will follow in the church at 2:00 pm. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Dale O. Steele. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Alamance County, 2444 Tribek Ct, Burlington, NC 27215.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Seasons at Southpoint facility and Alamance County Hospice for the care in her later years.
