Martha Brown May

Ms. Martha Brown May, 69, of Valle Crucis, NC passed away at the Caswell House in Yanceyville on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 7:20 p.m.

A native of Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of Jack Moore Brown and Julia Banks Turner, both deceased. Martha was a member of Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Valle Crucis.

Survivors include a daughter, Shannon May Oakley and her husband, Jeff of Prospect Hill; two grandchildren, Briana and Kaitlyn Oakley; and a brother, James Douglas Brown and his wife, Teresa of Lake Norman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carrol Yarbrough; and two brothers, Ted Brown and Jack Brown.

The family will have a private service.

Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham is assisting the family.
