Obituary

Margie Allison Gurganious, 82, of Graham passed away at Edgewood Place on Friday, June 7, 2019.

A native of Alamance County, she was wife of the late William Loyd Gurganious and daughter of the late Thomas Allison and Eula Marcelena Mann Allison. Mrs. Gurganious retired from Lucent Technologies and was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. She was one of the founders of the Junior Scratch Bowlers Association, a volunteer with the Hospice Flea Market, Loaves & Fishes and Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy (Barry) Brantley of Durham, Susan (Marshall) Sheppard of Burlington and Margo (Tom) Roberts of Graham; five grandchildren, B. J. (Nicole) Brantley, Nicole Moser, James Roberts, Christopher Roberts and Carisa Hicks (Jim); four great grandchildren, Devlan Brantley, Drew Brantley, Colby Hicks and Gared Hicks; two sisters, Margo Allison Glenn and Kathy Aardema (Tom); a brother, Tommy Allison (Cathy); a special niece, Carrie Davis (Hugh); a special nephew, John Glenn (Dana) and a sister-in-law, Virginia Gurganious.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, June 10, at the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Burlington with Rev. Phil Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
