Mrs. Louise Baxter Walters
Mrs. Louise Baxter Walters, 95, of Burlington passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord surrounded by her daughters and caregivers on February 20, 2020 at 11:44 p.m.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Charles Manley Walters, Jr. and the daughter of John Thomas Baxter and Elizabeth Coon Baxter, both deceased.
Mrs. Walters was formerly employed for 37 years as a Contract Manager with the License Plate Agency. She was a member of the Alamance County Service League and was a very active Bridge player. Louise was a member of the First Christian United Church of Christ where she formerly served as a Deacon.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Walters Newsome and husband Earl of Burlington and Julia Walters Miller and husband Keith of Burlington; son, Charles Manley Walters, III and his late wife Carol of Fairfax, VA; four grandchildren, Kathy Russell, Carrie Langley, Chris Taylor and Stephen Walters; two step-grandchildren, Lauren Newsome and Morgan Danford; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betsy Baxter Hall of Burlington. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Allred, Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted at the First Christian United Church of Christ on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. by Deborah Suess and Tim Jackson with the family receiving friends at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
