Louise Carter Rogers
Louise Carter Rogers, 60 of Yanceyville, NC died peacefully on Sunday, September 5th, 2021 at Duke University Hospital surrounding by family.
She was born in Salisbury, NC on October 3, 1960, the daughter of Kenneth Lee Carter and Mary Ellen Thomas Carter.
Louise Rogers is survived by son Thomas Rogers (wife Sarah) of Yanceyville, NC, son Daniel Rogers of Greensboro, NC, and daughter Erin Rogers Ghim (husband Michael) of Greensboro, NC. Also surviving her are brother Lee Carter Jr. (wife Danette) of Raleigh, granddaughter Emmy Rogers, and grandchildren Paxton and Cora Ghim. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Gary Garrison Rogers and her parents.
Known by many as Momma Lou, she will be best remembered by her lifelong work as a pediatric nurse spending most of her career serving children at Duke University Hospital in their pediatric emergency department in Durham, NC. Through the continued work of all the health care staff that she has mentored, Lou will continue to touch the lives of many even after her passing. Lou was an active member of Lea Bethel Baptist Church in Prospect Hill as well as a mother to a large community of people, helping to raise so many. Her favorite time was spent with family and close friends at the beach while reading her favorite books.
We will be receiving friends and family on Sunday, September 19th, beginning at 2:30 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington, NC.
