Mrs Loretta Kooken

Loretta Kooken, 77, of Graham, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Jersey City, NJ, she was the wife of the late Charles Richard Kooken and the daughter of Nicholas Walsh and Helen Karpinski Walsh, both deceased. She retired from Berkshire Hosiery in Wayne, NJ and later Lemco Mills in Burlington after thirty years of service. Mrs. Kooken was a down to earth person who enjoyed sitting on the front porch reading books and spending time with her granddaughter.

Survivors include her two children, Laura Snyder and husband Bob of Leland, NC and Jim Kooken of Graham; her granddaughter, Alyssa Snyder of Leland; two sisters, Diane Kay of Pfafftown, NC and Dolores Kay of Whiting, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Kooken

A private service will be held for the family.
