Linda Sykes Stewart

Linda Sykes Stewart, 77, of Graham, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 14, 2020.

A native of Graham, Linda was a proud Square Miler. She was the daughter of the late Walter H. Sykes and the late Ermina Jones Sykes.

She was a bookkeeper before her retirement, working for Melville Plastics, James Holmes, Accountant and Dave C. Dillard, PA, CPA.

A lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Graham, Linda was a Church Deacon, lifelong member of the choir, a charter member of the Handbell Choir, a member of AIM and the Joyful Noise Sunday School class.

She was a past member and past-president of the ABWA and a charter member of the Cardinal Chapter. She was also a past member of the Alamance Chorale.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter, Lynne Stewart Dillard and her husband, Dave, of Graham; 2 grandchildren, Amanda Dillard Miller and her husband, Adam, of Graham and Stewart R. Dillard of Mebane; 2 great-grandchildren, Carter Miller and Claire Miller; and her former husband, David H. Stewart, Jr. of Florida.

There will be a drive thru visitation Tuesday evening, from 6:00 until 7:00 at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 16, at 11:00 AM in Linwood Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Chris Phelps and the Rev. Shannon Hall.
