Linda "Toby" Ruth Reid

Linda "Toby" Ruth Reid, 77, of McLeansville, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Clapp’s Nursing Center located in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina.

A native of Bristol, TN she was the wife of Charles Herman Reid and the daughter of the late Beechum Cornette and the late Mary Phillips Cornette.

She is the devoted mother of Lori Loftis (Kenny), Mary Reid and Teresa Reid (Ben). Adored Granny of Hailey Loftis, Kristen Morrone (Matt), Jillian Loftis, Reid Casaus and Lourdess Casaus. Treasured great-grandmother of Arturo Morrone and Finnegan Morrone. Loving sister of Penny Burnette (Tom) and Cheryl Bowery (Jimmy).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Cornette.

She was one of the first women hired for the production line at Kay Chemical Company (Ecolab) where she enjoyed working for over 25 years, retiring in 2007.  She enjoyed keeping in touch with her coworkers who she considered family.

Linda was a dedicated wife and mother. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them.  She especially loved her role as Granny.  She had a vivacious personality and always found new friends everywhere she went. She had a special gift with cooking, often referred as her love language.  Hosting Sunday family dinners was always the highlight of the week.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at Rich & Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington.  The committal service will be held immediately following the funeral service at Alamance Memorial Park.
