Linda Darnell Clapp, 71, of Liberty passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019.
A native of Alamance County and a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother. She was the daughter of Vance and Willie Clapp, both deceased. She was an employee of the North Carolina Department of Corrections in Graham, NC.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelli Briggs and husband David of Gibsonville; three grandchildren, Jaclyn Maloney and husband Brian of Virginia Beach, VA; Jaired Sullivan of Whitsett and Makayla Briggs of Gibsonville; four sisters Carolyn Wimbish and husband Glenn of Burlington, Vangie Clapp of Liberty, Bobbie Clapp of Liberty, and Fran Clapp Cook and husband Doug of Liberty; three brothers, Don Clapp of Liberty, Edward “Butch” Clapp of Liberty, and John Clapp and wife Sylvia of Miami, FL; Sister-in-law Norma Clapp of Liberty as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Wayne Gerringer and wife Anne of Cypress, CA, Billy Clapp of Liberty, and Jack Clapp Sr. and wife Linda of Julian.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 3:00 until 5:00 pm. Other times they will be at the home of Kelli and David Briggs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. An organization near and dear to her heart.
