Linda Michaeline Hines’ love of life did not come to an end with her death. Linda passed away on July 4, 2021 at the age of 67, after a battle with liver disease and cancer.
Linda completed her Master’s degree in counseling at Gallaudet University after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was also a very proud alumnus of Hickory High School in Hermitage, PA. Go Hornets!
Linda had great pleasure in her work with the deaf and hard of hearing and was the group coordinator for “Hand Made,” a sign language troupe. The group provided deaf awareness programs using sign language and music.
She loved all her friends and considered each a blessing in her life. Her relationship with Jesus was a guiding force and she experienced His faithfulness throughout the years.
Linda is survived by, her sisters, Jane Hines, Laura Fleming, Judi Reagle and husband Jim, her brother Jon and wife Amy, all from Pennsylvania; and Dotty and Meagan Withers from Elon, NC. Her parents, John Henry Hines and Roberta Poole Hines and brother-in-law Mark Fleming preceded her in death.
A “celebration of life” service is planned for July 17th, at two o’clock in the old sanctuary at St. Mark’s Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: St. Mark’s Church in Burlington NC.
