Lillian Irene Striegler Cable, age 96, of Farmville went to be with her family and the Lord on March 18, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Mary Striegler; husband of 67 years, Clyde Wayne Cable, Sr.; son, Clyde Wayne Cable, Jr.; daughters-in-law, Joanne Cable and Susan Howard Wyre Cable; brothers, Victor and George Striegler; and sister, Maxine Grohman.
Left on this Earth is her son, Michael Cable of Farmville; six grandchildren; brothers, Maurice Striegler, Jay Striegler and Marion Striegler; sisters, Gladys Wiseman and Virginia Prehn Beam; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was a true Texan, born in Hye, Texas and a second-generation Dane. Having raised her brothers and sisters on the family farm when her mother was ill, her family knew her as Big Nana. She was known as the Yellow Rose of Texas and she was always 39 years old until her youngest son turned 50.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Farmville Funeral Home.
Interment will be private in Burlington, N.C. with a memorial service to be held at First United Methodist Church of Elon in Burlington at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.
