Leon Franklin Garner

Leon Franklin Garner, 81, of Leasburg, NC passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

A native of Durham County, he was the husband of the late Lora “Lib” Prince Garner and the son of Jesse James Garner and Sarah Alice Shields Garner, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and retired Prison Guard for the State of North Carolina.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy W. Burnett with whom he made his home and Renee W. Dickerson of Burlington; sons, Robert Garner, Gary Garner, and James Prince, all of Burlington; sister, Nellie Petty of Haw River; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and his special friend, Drema Guarra and her family. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lee Prince.

A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Chip Sellew.
