Mr Lawrence Basal "B.B." Jones Jr.

Lawrence Basal “B.B.” Jones, Jr., 61, of Burlington, died on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Debbie Scarlett Jones, his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years, who survives, and the son of Lawrence Basil Jones and Madeline Moser Jones, both deceased. B.B. was a plumber with UNC Hospitals and was very close with all his co-workers in the maintenance department. He was an avid UNC Tarheels fan and a skilled woodworker.

In addition to his wife Debbie, he is survived by his two sons, Josh Jones and girlfriend Vanessa of Efland and Matt Jones and wife Brooke of Raleigh; his beloved granddaughter who was the light of his life, Maddie Jones; two sisters, Terry Jones of Burlington and Neta Davis and husband Todd of Burlington; two nephews, T.J. and Trevor; and his beloved dog, Toby. He was preceded in death by his brother in law, Mike Moon.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington with Pastor Stephen Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington and at other times will be at the residence.
