Katherine Shore Scott
Katherine Shore Scott, 91, of Haw River, passed away on Friday 1/8/2021 at Liberty Commons in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, she was the devoted wife of 55 years, to the late William “Bill” Scott and the daughter of Guthrie Shore and Ida Elizabeth Hepler Shore. She retired from United Dairy, which was previously Melville Dairy. Katherine was a lifelong member of Salem United Church, holding various offices through the years. She was a former member of the choir and a life member of the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Saxapahaw Chapter of TOPS and KOPS.
Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whom everyone in the family knew would give them the moon, if they simply asked her. Her loving survivors include her daughters, Wanda Andrews, of Graham; Teresa Maniccia and her husband, Leo; her grandchildren, Jody Darryl Andrews, Bradley Scott Andrews, Lyndsey Maniccia, Ben Maniccia (Morgan), Nicole Maniccia; great grandchildren, Jocelyn Andrews, Jillian Andrews, Zachary Andrews and his wife, Abby, William Darryl Andrews, Gabe Maniccia, Jack Maniccia, Owen Maniccia, Macland Maniccia; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was the last living of 10 siblings. Preceding her in death were brothers, Charlie Shore, J. R. Shore, Rev. J.C. Shore, Walter Shore, Autman D. “Mac” Shore; her sisters, Lula Mae Crawford, Elizabeth Sawyer, Jessie Crawford and Rea Isley; along with a very special son in law, Darryl Andrews.
A funeral service will be held at Salem United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday 1/12/2021. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
