Joyce Harrell “Mama Joyce” Pendergraph

Joyce Harrell “Mama Joyce” Pendergraph, 93, of Burlington passed away at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home on Friday, September 3, 2021.

A native of Richmond County, she was the wife of the late William O. Pendergraph and the daughter of John Wilson Harrell and Mattie Hudson Harrell, both deceased. She retired from Stadler’s Country Hams. Joyce was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and taught the Women’s Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her son, Mike Reid and wife Ellen of Burlington and many members of her church family. She was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Wayne Pendergraph and daughter, Brenda Kay Pendergraph.

The funeral service will be conducted at New Hope Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Randy Hobbs, Rev. Steve Dagenhart, and Rev. Matthew Hobbs with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
