Mrs. Joyce Brady Collins, 85 of Burlington passed away at her residence on Friday. April 22, 2022 at 5:55 pm.
A native of Richmond County in Rockingham, NC, she was the wife for 63 years to the late Timothy “Jack” Collins, Sr. and the daughter of James Leo Brady and Johnsie Watts Brady, both deceased.
She retired from financial institute industry and was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church. Her church life included being a UMW officer in local church and as District UMW President and other offices on Distract team for 20 years. She served on Bellemont Memorial Association for many years in different capacities including President. She was Lay leader for many years and attended UMC Conference often. She headed up the Harvest Festival for multiple years, as well as many other mission related projects. Red Bird Mission in Kentucky was one that was near and dear to her heart. She was a member of the NC Patrol Auxiliary, and worked with the Red Cross, Cub Scouts, and many other mission related agencies in Alamance County.
Survivors include her children, Tim Collins and wife Connie of Burlington, Jimmy Collins and wife Linda of Burlington, Keith Collins and wife Sandy of Snow Camp, and Craig S. Collins of Greenville, NC; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Caleb, Cheyenne, Morgan, Tonya, Nick, Stacey, Tom, and Landis; eight great-grandchildren, Gavin, Mallory, Gillian, Levi, Parker, Charley, Cameron, and Madison; one sister, JoAnn Brady, and a family friend and caregiver, Donna Collins.
A funeral service will be held at Bellemont United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the Christian Life Center. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be at the residence.
