Joseph "Joe" Scott

Joseph “Joe” Scott, 80, of Mebane went home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, the 16th of November surrounded by his loved ones at the Hospice Home in Burlington.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 58 years to Jean McDonald Scott and son of the late Glen and Gladys Scott. Joe proudly served 6 years in the United States Army and retired with 25 years in Transportation and Logistics with Northern Telecom. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Graham.
   
In addition to his wife and their fur baby, Prissy, he is survived by two daughters, Terri S. Jones and her husband Keith of Burlington and Dana S. Wilson and her husband Kelly of Graham; four grandchildren, Blake Throneburg and his wife Allison, Amber J. Beltran and her husband Antonio, Carlye Jones and Chaz Wilson; two step-grandchildren, Sydney Wilson and Gabe Wilson; two great-grandchildren, Aaiden Beltran and Ana Beltran; one sister, Glenda S. Kimrey.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham with the family receiving friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service. At other times the family will receive friends at their home. The committal service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service.
