Mr. John C. “J.C.” Thompson, Jr., 93, of the Salem Methodist Church Community passed away at the Alamance House on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 2:25 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Hazel Johnson Thompson, who survives and the son of John C. Thompson, Sr. and Maggie Snipes Thompson, both deceased. J.C. was retired from IBM and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two nieces, Barbara Henderson Doss and her husband, Robert of Reidsville and Louise Henderson Flanigan of Graham; four nephews, Gene Dismuke and his wife, Theresa of Cary, Charles Dismuke and his wife, Deborah of Cary, Ray Johnson and his wife, Sara of Elon and Michael Johnson of Richmond, VA; and a brother-in-law, James T. “J.T.” Johnson of Concord.
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Lee Thompson; a son, Wayne Allen Thompson; a sister, Foy Thompson Dowd; and a nephew-in-law, Mike Flanigan.
A funeral service will be held at Salem United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. by the Rev. Cindy Lister. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
