John Franklin Swaim, 62, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018. The youngest of five, he leaves behind a heartbroken family who will deeply miss but forever cherish his kind heart, generous nature, and sweet soul.
Johnny was the kind of man who took his older brother to his doctor’s appointments, even when he wasn’t feeling well himself. He always sent roses to his sister on her birthday and texted her daily to tell her he loved her. After his father passed away, Johnny refinished his dad's antique radio for his niece because he knew he wanted her to have it. He made friends wherever he went with his genuine smile and contagious laugh, and he would do anything to help anyone in need.
Johnny was the son of John Quincy Swaim and Margaret Phillips Swaim, both deceased. He is survived by a son, John Michael, and a daughter, Jessica Lynn; brothers, Jesse James Swaim and Wilson Grant Swaim; and sisters, Joan Swaim Arey (Richard) and Sharon Swaim Braxton (Gary). Many beloved nieces and nephews also grieve this loss.
Rich & Thompson Funeral & Cremation Service in Burlington is taking care of all arrangements. The family will honor Johnny’s life at a graveside service on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Pine Hill Cemetery.
