John Francis Eason Jr.

John Francis Eason, Jr., Burlington, NC, died December 24, 2018. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019.

Francis was born March 15, 1942 at home in South Mills, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a younger brother, parents John Francis Eason, Sr. and Mary Lucille Bateman Eason, and wife of thirty years, Irish Howard Eason.

He was a retired educator of thirty-two years with Alamance County Schools. He was an avid motorcyclist, voracious reader, and model airplane enthusiast. He was a member of GRAMS (Greensboro Radio Aeromodelers Club) having served as president and on the board of directors.

He is survived by a son, John Francis Eason III of Edmonton, Canada, a daughter, Sarah Jean Eason of Burlington, granddaughter Sadie Mae Soviero, and grandson Samuel Maximus Soviero, and several pets, brothers James C. Eason of South Mills, NC, and William Horace Eason of Callahan, FL, sisters Linda Colson and June Riggs of South Mills and Sandra Smith of Palm Bay, FL, and step-mother Mildred Eason of Hertford, NC.

A service will be held Thursday at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Services located at 306 Glenwood Ave., Burlington, NC 27215. Time: 4-6pm.
