Ms. JoAnne Patricia Nall Kimrey, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 17 at
10:25 p.m. surrounded by family and dedicated Hospice staff who cared tirelessly and
compassionately for her.
Daughter of Rev. Luther A Nall (d) and Beatrice Genevieve Oliver Nall (d) and stepmother Bessie Woody Nall (d). JoAnne was sister to Harold L. Nall (d), Jack A. Nall (d), Bill L. Nall (d) and George T. Nall. Mother to JoLynn Kimrey, Donald Bradley Kimrey (d), David Jonathan Kimrey, Kelli Kimrey Moser and husband Eddie, and Paul Timothy Kimrey and wife Ashley. JoAnne was a loving grandmother to seven and great grandmother to two.
JoAnne was a teacher’s assistant for many years at Haw River Elementary where she adored the students she taught. She directed music at Calvary Baptist Church, Swepsonville United Methodist, Nall Memorial, Community Baptist and Northside Presbyterian. She would beam with excitement each year as she planned the Christmas Cantata. She celebrated love and life for years as she played wedding services, memorial services and other occasions. She taught piano for decades and loved keeping track of and bragging about her students.
She loved selflessly and sacrificed so that her children and others would not be without. She spoke often of a mission trip to Columbia, South America and how much it hurt to see those in need. She never stopped wanting to help and feed the hungry. She had a kind heart and loved children and animals dearly.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m.
