Mr. Jimmy G. Rogers, 74, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 4:00 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Clyde E. Rogers and Nelle Gray Williams Rogers, both deceased. Mr. Rogers was formerly employed with Associated Transport and retired from Shoffner Industries. He was an avid motorcycle rider and fisherman. His favorite place to fish was at Bug’s Island.
Survivors include his dear companion, Cynthia Clapp of Burlington; three children, Carolyn Rogers Godfrey and husband Sandy of Elon, Chris Rogers and wife Trenna of Burlington and Leslie Amanda Rogers of Burlington; five grandchildren, Michael Briggs, Matthew Billings, Corey Billings, Cole Rogers and London Rogers; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Caroline Rogers; and his dear cousin, Marie Murray. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Douglas Rogers; brother, Jerry Dean Rogers; and sister, Rebecca Lynn Rogers.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Other times the family will be at his residence and his children’s residence.
