Mr. Jimmie Vaden, 78, of Whitsett passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 2:03 a.m.
A native of Stokes County, he was the husband of 54 years to Shirley Vaden, who survives and the son of James Bryan Vaden and Ruth Martin Vaden, both deceased. Mr. Vaden was a former member of the National Guard and formerly employed with P. Lorillard. He loved being outdoors and was an avid coin collector. He also loved spending time with his friends in his man cave.
Jimmie was a loving husband, father and grandfather who is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Angela Vaden Tanner of Burlington and Candace Vaden Cuthbertson and husband Brian of Guilford County; two grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Kiersten Tanner and Riley Cuthbertson; best friend, Tommy Gerner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jamie Vaden, Floyd Vaden and Diane Webster.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
The funeral service will be conducted at Brick Reformed Church on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Geoff Lalone. Burial will follow in Brick Reformed Church Cemetery.
