Jean Ransom

Jean Ransom passed from this Earth on Tuesday October 16, 2018. A visitation will be held at Rich & Thompson in Burlington from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday,  October 21st.

Jean was born February 3, 1962 in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Iowa State University with a B.Sc. in Education class of 1984 and from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with her M.Ed. class of 1994.

She worked at several schools including Hillside High School in Durham and Ragsdale High School in Jamestown. She served seventeen years as assistant principal for Ragsdale. Mentoring students and faculty brought her much joy and formed many happy memories. She improved countless days and enriched education for every student. The Ragsdale community thrived under her supervision.

She was an accomplished darts player and integral to the Piedmont Dart Association community. Every match she encouraged compassion and created laughter. Jean loved driving and the opportunities that travel offered. Her love of the open road and new experiences was contagious.

Jean Ransom will be lovingly remembered by her husband, two children, mother and two brothers.
