Jane Elizabeth Moore Russell

Jane Elizabeth Moore Russell, 90, of Burlington passed away at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
 
A native of Iredell County, she was the wife of Robert Donald “Don" Russell, who survives, and the daughter of Wade Hampton Moore and Cleo Rebecca Harper Moore, both deceased.
 
Mrs. Russell retired from teaching after more than 30 years, mostly within the Alamance Burlington School System. She was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority for many years, and was a long time member of Macedonia Lutheran Church. She loved needlepoint, storytelling and all animals, especially cardinals.
 
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Douglas Page Russell (Elaine) and Andrew Gordon Russell (Bernadette).

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Robert “Bob” Moore and J. W. “Buck” Page and sister, Helen Page Crenshaw. She is survived by four sisters, Marti Barkley, Rachel Tromba, Nancy Aley-Mueller, and Fran Welch; three grandsons, Ben Russell, Jon Russell and Taylor Piel; and 8 great-grandchildren.
 
A memorial service will be conducted at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community, 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville, NC on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Bob Symanski, with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
