James Alvis "Buster" Parrish

James Alvis “Buster” Parrish, 89, of Snow Camp, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Peak Resources in Graham after years of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, Mr. Parrish was the husband of Alma Cook Parrish for 68 years and the son of the late Ernest Edward Parrish and the late Cora Lee Hensley Parrish.

Mr. Parrish worked at Virginia Mills, Burlington Industries Pioneer Plant, Splawn Belting, and retired from GE, Mebane. Carpentry on the side He was a member of “The Hard Working Man’s Club”.

Mr. Parrish was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and attended Victory Chapel Wesleyan Church.

In addition to his wife, Alma, of the home; Mr. Parrish is survived by three daughters, Deborah P. Kiser and husband, Sam, of Snow Camp, Barbara P. Teer of Graham, Sandra P.
Blanchard and husband William, of Mebane; four grandchildren, Amanda T. Nelson (Matt), Matthew Teer, Savannah Blanchard, Joey Blanchard (Lauren); a step grandchild, Lisa K. Bradshaw (Craig), two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Blanchard; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mark E. Teer; a sister, Beatrice Hill; and three brothers, Marvin Parrish, Ernest Parrish, Jr. and Lonnie Parrish.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Graham. Other times they will be at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Barbara Teer.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Noah Albarez and the Rev. Don Pegg. Burial will be in Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
