James Lee Yancey Markley

James Lee Yancey Markley, 20, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Jason Markley and Monte Markley, who survive. James was a student at Elon University where he played for the Elon Rugby Team. He also worked at GNC. He was a member of Integrity Church.

In addition to his father and mother, survivors include his grandparents; Wade and Lynn Cobb and Harold and Eileen Prince; and his great grandmother, Monte Tickle.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Burley Tickle.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Pastor Bud Wrenn with the family receiving friends immediately following the service.
