Mr. James “Billy” Edward Hendrix, 92, of Burlington passed away at the Alamance House on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
A native of Hogansville, GA, he was the husband of the late Mary Madeline Watts Hendrix and the son of
J. W. Hendrix and Ruthie Miller Hendrix, both deceased. Mr. Hendrix was a veteran of the U. S. Navy,
Seaman First Class, serving from December 1945 until December 1947. He retired from Burlington Industries and was an active member of the Burlington Shrine Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Hope Blehm (Matt) of Clayton and Lisa Chrismon (Dale) of Elon and five grandchildren, Erich, Matthew, Meagan, Ethan and Katelyn. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Hendrix and Hugh Hendrix and a sister, Dot Williams.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Ben Bishop with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service will follow in the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.
