James E. "Jimmy" Harrison

James E. “Jimmy” Harrison, 82, of Haw River, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, September 15, 2019.

A native of Haw River, Mr. Harrison was the husband of Jane Roberson Harrison and the son of the late George Harrison and the late Mary Whitlow Harrison.

Mr. Harrison the former Service Manager at Green’s Fuel Gas Company. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Mr. Harrison was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher, a Deacon and served as a Church Trustee.

He was the President of the Haw River Museum and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his wife, Jane, of the home, Mr. Harrison is survived by his daughter, Mitzie Campbell and her husband, Billy, of Haw River; four grandchildren, Larry Gray and his wife, Latashia, Bryan Gray, Amiee Helbert and her husband, David, Jamie Crawford; great-grandchildren, Connor Williams, Bailey Helbert, Paisley McAlister, Ensley McAlister; step-great-grandchild, Elizabeth Perkins and step-great-great-grandchildren, Aulbrey Ashley and Damon Jones.

Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Gray.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Graham, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Other times they will be at the residence.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 18, at 2:00 PM in Tabernacle Baptist Church in Graham. Officiating will be the Rev. Norman Fargis. Burial will be in Haw River Cemetery.
