James Glenn Cornell

     James Glenn Cornell,  74, of Burlington,  died Wednesday, 10/14/2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

     A native of Alamance County,  he was the son of James Henry Cornell and Nellie Smith Cornell,  both deceased.  Glenn was retired and a huge fan of the NC  Tar Heels.

     Glenn is survived by a son,  James Clyde “Jamie” Cornell,  of Raleigh;  sisters,  Joan Cornell Purvis,  of Burlington,  Kay Cornell Lee and husband Phillip, of Willow Springs,  Gail Cornell Jordan,  of Burlington and Lisa Cornell Harrison and husband, Buster,  of Burlington and a brother,  Henry Michael Cornell and his wife,  Virginia, of Wilmington.   He was preceded in death by a sister,  Ann Birchett Cornell.

     A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, 10/18/2020 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham.  Burial will follow at Historic Providence Church Cemetery in Graham.  The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson in Graham from 1:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m.,  prior to the service.  At other times,  they will be at the residence of a sister, Lisa Cornell Harrison, 1510 McCuiston Dr., Burlington.
