Jacob Clay Alexander

May 16, 1953 ~ January 23, 2022 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Obituary

“We love because God first loved us.”  1 John 4:19

Jacob Clay “Jake” Alexander was called to his eternal home on Sunday, January 23, 2022.  Born on May 16, 1953, Jacob was the husband of Janette Wood Alexander, who survives, and the son of Lester and Cynthia Alexander, both deceased.

Jacob was a quiet man who loved his family with a passion that could only be surpassed by God’s love.  He showed his love for Janette as God instructed in Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it.”  His children and grandchildren made his heart swell and his eyes twinkle.  He was always there to support and cheer them on in whatever they chose to do. Jacob didn’t just fulfill his responsibilities as a husband, daddy & Papaw, he relished the opportunity to be the Man, the Myth, the Legend and, to his family, he was all that and more.

From a young age Jacob was known for his athletic ability and although he played & coached many sports as a young man, he loved being on the golf course.  He enjoyed many hours golfing with Janette, Josh, Jaclyn and other family members and friends.  Some of his happiest moments were teaching the sport to his children and grandchildren.

Jacob enjoyed a career spanning close to 50 years in sales with Duke Power, CAC and R.E. Michel winning countless sales contests and salesman of the year awards.

In addition to his wife, Jacob is survived by his children, Joshua Alexander (Heather) of Graham and Jaclyn Alexander Ellis (Alan) of Burlington; 5 grandchildren, Jacob Alexander, Ketner Alexander, Aydan Cable, Masyn Ellis and Westyn Ellis; one brother, Chuck Alexander (Gail); two sisters, Vivian Brannock (James) and Cindy Alexander.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Archie Alexander.

The family extends a special thank you to his caregivers Stephanie, Whitney & Sherrie from AuthoraCare who not only cared for him, but also loved and ministered to the entire family.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, 1/27/22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.  A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, 1/28/22 at The Lambs Chapel Airport Campus.  Burial will be at Mt. Hermon UMC, Graham, NC following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective, 2500 Summit Ave, Greensboro 27405; Living Free Ministries or Mary’s House, 1230 Walnut Grove Lane, Snow Camp, NC 27349.
