Mr. Irvin Carlton Parham, Sr., 87, of Graham passed away at the Hospice Home on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 following four months of declining health.
A native of Lee County, he was the husband of 68 years to Marie Vincent Parham, who survives. Irvin was the love of her life. He was the son of Burrell Irvin Parham and Madie Seawell Parham, both deceased. He retired from Lucent Technologies and was a former member of the Alamance County Rescue Unit and Graham Civitan Club. Mr. Parham was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and former Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a former member of the Men’s Group and Young at Heart Group at the church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his son, Irvin Carlton Parham, Jr. of Burlington; two grandchildren, Brandace Parham and Amber Parham Taylor and husband Justin; two great-grandchildren, Declan and Brooklyn Taylor; brother, Terry Parham of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted at Riverside Baptist Church on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Bob Stephenson, Rev. Mark Stephenson and Rev. Curtis Oakley with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Snow Camp, NC. Other times the family will be at the residence.
