Howard A. Hudson

Mr. Howard A. Hudson, 89, of Liberty died at the Hospice Home on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 7:55 a.m. following a brief illness.

A native of Alamance County, he was happily married 67 years to Reva Long Hudson, who survives and the son of George Clyde Hudson and Ola Smith Hudson, both deceased. Mr. Hudson was retired. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hudson was a well-known professional musician with the Emanon’s, traveling worldwide. He was a self-taught piano and banjo player who played on the radio with Lester Flatt. He was an avid antique collector.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Jenny Wilson and husband Steve of Haw River; son, Stephen Hudson and wife Carol of Jamestown; and one grandchild, Parker Hudson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hoyte Hudson and Robert Hudson.

The funeral service will be conducted at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Barry Lemons with the family receiving friends from 1:15 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Other times the family will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hurricane Relief Fund at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty, NC.
