Herbert Rickie (Rick) Hall

Herbert Rickie (Rick) Hall, 67, of Burlington, NC passed away peacefully on March 14, 2020 at the Hospice Home of Alamance.

He was the son of Herbert Junior Hall and Lila Doris Andrews Hall, both deceased.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Cindy Hall, son Brad Hall (spouse Brittany Hall) and grandchildren, Mason Hall and Weston Hall. In addition, he leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Bo and Nate. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rick was a dedicated Duke Blue Devil sports fan. One of his favorite moments was meeting Coach K and Bob Harris, who visited him at Duke Hospital while he was waiting for his heart transplant. Rick cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was a wonderful and devoted husband to Cindy and a loving father to Brad.

Rick was retired from the City of Burlington Parks and Recreation Department as Director of Fairchild Community Center. Having worked with the Recreation Department for 27+ years, he developed close relationships with various city officials and city staff employees.

The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday March 18th at 11:00 at Harvest Baptist Church. In light of the recent restrictions due to the Coronavirus, there will not be a visitation service. Interment will be at Alamance Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make any donations to Harvest Baptist Church in care of Pastor Larry Lamberth in Rick’s memory.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the many doctors and hospital staff at Duke University Hospital for their excellent care provided to him over the years.

MR. HALL WILL REMAIN AT RICH AND THOMPSON IN BURLINGTON UNTIL TAKEN TO THE CHURCH TO LIE IN STATE  AT 10:00 AM WEDNESDAY. THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO COME BY THE FUNERAL HOME TO VIEW MR. HALL AND SIGN THE REGISTER BOOK.
