Henry T. "Jack" Stinson

Mr. Henry T. “Jack” Stinson, 93, of Burlington passed away at Morningview at Irving Park in Greensboro on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 6:14 a.m.

A native of Mecklenburg County, he was the husband of the late Eunice Curl Stinson and the son of James U. Stinson and Clyde Thompson Stinson, both deceased.

Mr. Stinson was a veteran of the U. S. Marines #2-1st Marine Division serving during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a life member of the 1st Marine Division Association. He was a member of the V.F.W., the D.A.V., the American Legion Post 63 and the Elks Lodge. Jack was formerly employed with Kayser Roth and Kobel Industries. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon. Jack was a happy, positive man with a pleasant smile and a thank you from his heart.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Earl Stinson (Linda) of Charlotte and David L. Stinson (David Isom) of Greensboro; daughter, Jacqueline Pearce (Wayne) of Wilmington; five grandchildren; Walter Scott Stinson (Sheree), Sonya Joyce Skinner (Tod), Stephen Earl Stinson (April), Amy Price (Bryant), and  Angela Boykin (Taylor) and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, James H. Stinson, Leonard Stinson, Wesley Stinson and Lewis Stinson and three sisters, Minnie Heritage, Nina Hinson and Ruth Alexander.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Steven Earl Stinson and Dr. James Bryan with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
