Helen Garcia

Mrs. Helen Garcia, 77, of Mebane passed away at her residence on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Garcia was born in Vaughn, New Mexico. She was the wife of Pancho Garcia, who survives and the daughter of Louis Anaya and Yselia Vigil Anaya, both deceased. She was a former school bus driver for Harris Middle School in Concord, NC. Helen was a member of Harvest Hills Church of God.

In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include three daughters, Sally Louise VanMeter and husband Gary, Maria Rhinehart and husband Wayne and Lucille Ann Santucci and husband Mark; son, Richard Garcia and wife Betty; two granddaughters; eight grandsons; and six great-grandchildren

A memorial service will be conducted at Harvest Hills Church of God on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service will follow at Mebane Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Food Pantry at Harvest Hills Church of God, 3110 Maple Avenue, Burlington, NC 27215 or the Church of God Children’s Home, 3485 Orphanage Circle, Concord, NC 28027.

This a memory from the family. It’s somehow difficult for us to find the right words to describe and honor the woman who meant the world to us most of our lives. The woman who always put her life second to her kids and who showed the love of God to everyone. She was so generous and cared for many besides her family. She was such a source of strength and support for us. We will miss her immensely. Her smile and laugh and her unwavering love. What a wonderful mom, grandma and great grandma she was. We love you so much and we are so thankful that we will see you again one day, because God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes him will not perish but have eternal life!
