Helen H. Culberson

Helen H. Culberson, 89, of Graham passed away at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

A native of Wake County, she was the wife of 69 years to Fred J. Culberson, who survives and the daughter of Paul D. Hinsley and Lucy Hussey Hinsley, both deceased. She enjoyed attending Temple Baptist Church in Haw River until her health started to decline. Helen enjoyed working in her yard especially with her flowers. She was an avid walker for many years, enjoyed baking, and being a part of a bowling league in her younger years. After her retirement, she looked forward to group travel trips. She loved her family gatherings while laughing and telling jokes and listening to Southern Gospel Music.

In addition to her husband of their home, survivors include two children, Diana Culberson of Charleston, SC and John Culberson and wife Dana of Gibsonville; four grandchildren, Aimee Burns, Angela Fullbright, Caleb Culberson, and Laney Culberson; other loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, William Fred Hinsley and wife Kay of New Hill, NC; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Culberson; and her siblings, Walter Lee Hinsley, Lottie Cook, Gerald Hinsley, Paul Nelson Hinsley, and Polly Mitchell.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor James Black with the family receiving friends following the service.
