Obituary
Mr. Harris “Jack” McVey, 86 of Snow Camp, passed away Saturday morning at Ashton Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Durham County, he was son of the late B. Harris McVey and Rochelle Roach McVey and husband of the late Betty Ruth Wilson McVey. Mr. McVey retired from Bell South and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Snow Camp, a member of the Ruritan Club, and a Scout Master in Snow Camp.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna McVey Perry (David) of Snow Camp and Beth McVey Crutchfield (Bobby) of Burlington; two sons, Darrell Tysor McVey (Carla) and Barry Wilson McVey, both of Snow Camp; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. McVey was preceded in death by a sister, Marion M. Tillman; a brother, Forrest McVey; and a grandson, Benjamin Robert Crutchfield.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Snow Camp with Rev. Jeff Hagood officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 2 pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Methodist Home for Children, 1041 Washington St., Raleigh, NC 27605-1259.
