Harold Glenn Nunn

Harold Glenn Nunn, 89, was surrounded by his family at his home in Burlington, NC when he went to be with his Lord on February 4, 2019. Born March 2, 1929 to the late Robert Ellis Nunn and Mary Edna Mooney Nunn, he was a native of Roxboro, NC. A veteran of the United States Army, Harold moved to Burlington in 1952. He retired from Leesona Corporation in 1994 after 35 years of service. 

He and his wife of 65 years, the late Audrey Tickle Nunn, were wonderful parents to Susan Wilson (Charles), Larry Nunn (Michelle) and Jeffrey Nunn, all of Burlington, and proud grandparents to Jennifer Wilson, Michael Nunn (Tiffany), Robert Nunn (Maria), Lindsey Brenner (Brad), Megan Nunn and Jacob Nunn. Harold was also recently blessed with the birth of two great grandchildren, Audrey Brenner and Nolan Nunn. 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Fred Nunn, and his sister, Lorraine Nunn Martin.

He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his wife, family and faith. A hardworking Christian and soft-spoken man, Harold spent his life devoted to being an incredible husband, father and grandfather who could often be found cheering on his beloved Duke Blue Devils.

The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Burlington on Friday, February 8th from 6-8pm. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at Peoples Memorial Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Larry Lamberth and Mack Ray on Saturday, February 9th at 2pm, followed by a burial service at Alamance Memorial Park. Visitors are welcome to visit the family throughout the week at 4487 Cornerstone Drive in Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.

The family deeply appreciates and gratefully acknowledges the Hospice staff for the extraordinary care and support they have provided in caring for Harold during the past year.
