Mr. Gordon Hunter "G.H." Baldwin, Jr., 93, of Burlington passed away at The Home place of Burlington on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 11:58 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 67 years to Patty Stout Baldwin, who survives, and the son of Gordon Hunter Baldwin, Sr. and Irene Webster Burch, both deceased.
Mr. Baldwin served in the U.S. Army and later attended Elon College. He retired from Sears Roebuck & Company after 40 years of service and taught woodworking at Alamance Technical Institute (Community College) at night. He also worked with the local Habitat for Humanity for many years. G.H. was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
In additions to his wife of their home, survivors include a granddaughter, Katie Baldwin and daughter-in-law Catherine Baldwin, both of Raleigh; a brother, Carlos Baldwin, of Kannapolis; brother-in-law, Michael Leach and wife Debbie of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Sharon Hafeken and husband Herman of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian H. Baldwin.
The family would like to thank Hospice and the staff at Homeplace for their care of Mr. Baldwin.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
