Glenwood Franklin Faulkner, 82 of Graham died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at his home after several years of declining health.
A native of Snow Camp, NC he was the husband of Vicky Black Faulkner and the son of Lawrence Franklin Faulkner and Allene McPherson Faulkner, both deceased. He was a graduate of E.M. Holt School and attended Guilford College and Elon College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked at Western Electric until starting his landscaping business. He had a love for the outdoors. Glen enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting.
He was a devoted member of Friendship United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir for many years. He found great joy in Christian music and sang with several gospel groups in the Burlington area. He never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Lassiter (David) of Liberty, NC; son, Josh Faulkner of Graham, NC; grandson, Dawson Lassiter; brothers, Bobby Faulkner (Betty) of Winston-Salem, NC and Harold Faulkner (Sara) of Thomasville, NC; sister, Donna Culbreth (Wally) of Reidsville, NC; and 7 nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank the wonderful caregivers, Kathy Foster and Brenda Senter for providing loving and compassionate care.
Services will be held at Friendship United Methodist Church, Burlington, NC on Saturday, August 11, 2018 beginning with visitation at 9:45am and service at 11:00am.
