Glenda Newton Day, 78, of Mebane, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2019 at her home after a two year battle with cancer.
A native of Alamance County, Mrs. Day was the wife of 52 years to the late Douglas Eugene Day, who died March 5, 2018, and was the daughter of the late Walter (Walt) Newton and the late Mabel Shoffner Newton.
Mrs. Day retired from Lucent Technologies (AT&T) and was a member of Lambs Chapel Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Day, and her wife, Holly, of the home; her grand dogs, Oscar and Zola; four sisters, Judy Harris of Burlington, Pat Slaughter and her husband, Vic, of Burlington, Brenda Mahaley of Burlington and Sandra Arenas of Burlington; a special nephew, David Mahaley and his wife Janice; and many other nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington. Other times they will be at the residence.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday in the Rich and Thompson Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
