Mr George Roman Slazyk

Mr. George Slazyk, 81, of Leasburg, NC, passed away at Duke University Medical Center on Thursday, August 2, 2018.

A native of Cook Co., IL, he was the husband of Raylene Slazyk and son of the late George and Angeline Loco Slazyk. He was retired from Lucent Technologies as Director of International Sales and prior to this position, he worked with AT & T for over 30 years. Mr. Slazyk was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving, other than his wife of the home, are a daughter, Debbie Slazyk Proffit of Burlington; two grandsons, Christopher Proffit and Steven Proffit both of Burlington; and a great granddaughter, Halleigh Proffit. He was preceded in death by a son, George Slazyk and a brother, Jerry Slazyk.

A memorial service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, August 11, at 10:00 AM by Father Paul Lininger. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
