We were so sorry to hear of Garrett's passing. He was such a nice, kind man. We were so lucky to have been able to spend Thanksgiving with him and Glenda three years ago. We always enjoyed seeing him and Glenda. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family at this difficult time.

I enjoyed working with Garrett at NC Dept of Revenue during the late 70's-early 80's. He was always so pleasant and jovial and we all had a lot of fun working together in the Greensboro office. He was one of the wittiest guys I ever knew. His kids really were his "pride and joy". My prayers are with the family at this time. May you find peace in all the happy memories you have of Garrett.

I am sadden by the passing of my one and only favorite Uncle Garrett. He always had a way of making everyone laugh at his funny jokes. You never knew what he was going to say but everyone in his presence knew it was going to be something very unexpected and very funny. I will always remember the fun times I had with Garrett growing up and I'm thankful for the time I spent with Garrett and Glenda at their lovely home this past March. Garrett was a good ole country man and he loved life and the outdoor beauty that God created for us. This fall as I rake up a leaves from my yard , I'll think of my Uncle Garrett and how much he looked forward to the falling of leaves. May God comfort you Glenda, Robin, and Scott during this most difficult time of your life. I'm sending you lots of hugs and kisses. Love you all always, Cathy and John Holden

I am so saddened to learn of Garrett Ray's passing. As a first cousin to him and Patti, I loved visiting their house in Ararat where there were so many things to do when we were young. I was proud to have such good-looking cousins too! Laura and Alicia both remember him and Glenda dancing and having fun times at the girls' weddings. He enjoyed life and we smiled; we will miss him. May God comfort Glenda and the family in the coming days. Mary Frances
